Almost everybody knows i love dolls and i love retro stuff. Now puppets tend to be better than dolls and cult, unknown movies tend to be better than just retro media so i couldn't resist to buy Jim Henson's floppiest movie ever: The Dark Crystal.

All genius have soar moments. Honestly i can see why none liked this movie back in 1982: what would you expect from the creator of the Muppets? there aren't any cheerful songs, nor adorable cookie-obsessed monsters. In fact, is somehow a mature movie; hard to understand, hard to stand, a little bit grotesque, complicated and quite scary. Children wouldn't like it. Adults would find it too slow...and David Bowie fanservice is nowhere to be found (ok, that doesn't count) There is however, something that makes it an instant cult-classic. The freaky settings? the organically twisted characters? the totally awesome props, character design and outfits? I have loads of mixed feelings about it...won't see it again soon tough...
